THE unveiling of the Golden Jubilee Logo on the Caribbean Airlines’ jets took place recently; and unfortunately, persons feel it was a bit anticlimactic. I have to say I agree. Call me hopeful, but I expected a huge emblem plastered on the aircraft’s tail or something of the sort — something that would allow more than just the crew and passengers to see.
People seem to feel the same way, and upon seeing the grand unveiling, they more or less scoffed at what they believe is little more than a sticker on the front of the jet. Although there was no reduction in fares, people were hoping that this half-hearted move from CAL would have at least been worth it. But now it seems that, indeed, it was too good to be true.
Fine change
News of the cold-blooded murder of the British teen continues to be a hot topic, as three more persons were arrested for being involved in the act. So far, five persons have been charged with the murder, and it’s amazing to even think that this much effort was put into murdering a man who was barely an adult. The fact that five people -– including a pregnant young woman and her mother — allegedly took part in the murder of this young man is somewhat awe-inducing. The question on everyone’s mind is: All this for what? Some fine change? Disgraceful!
#yestolife
It’s good to see even the youth coming forward and using social media as a catalyst to help combat the rising instances of suicide that have been plaguing our country. Hashtags such as #project592hope and #yestolife have become trending topics, as messages are being shared across Facebook to encourage those who may be contemplating the act.
Groups such as Youth for Local have stepped up in creating memes and posters to spread the message of hope. Others have taken to sharing the numbers for the SUICIDE PREVENTION HOTLINE: (+592) 223-0001, 223-0009, 600-7896, 623-4444. In this time of political discord, it is good that at least we can come together and agree on one thing.
