POLICE yesterday intercepted a shipment of cocaine destined for France at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

The police said in a statement that at about 13:30 hrs yesterday, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch at the CJIA intercepted the package containing two kilograms, 700 grams of cocaine, which was being shipped to France via a courier service.

Investigations are in progress.
