Superb bowling by left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul and brilliant batting by Asad Fudadin sparked the Guyana Jaguars to an emphatic six-wicket victory over the Combined Campuses & Colleges Marooners in their rain-affected Group B encounter in St Kitts yesterday. The Jaguars won the toss and elected to field first. Former Barbadian Test player Ryan Hinds showed his experience to rally the lower order and help restore some respectability to Marooners eventual total. Hinds topscored with 47 as the CCC Marooners recovered to reach 149 all out in 48.3 overs.
Permaul was the chief destroyer and finished with outstanding figures of 10-0-22-4 while Wintz, who played in place of veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul grabbed three wickets for 21. Raymon Reifer (1-18), Steven Jacobs (1-37) and Royston Crandon (1-19) shared one wicket apiece.

Fudadin progressed to 71 that was studded with three sixes and six fours off 96 balls before he was dismissed. Leon Johnson and Christopher Barnwell fell cheaply but Vishaul Singh and Reifer defied the defied the opposition any further success even when rain interrupted with 19 run required for victory.
On resumption, left-handed Singh finished the match and sparked celebrations among the Guyanese contingent and their supporters with a massive six.
He remained undefeated on 36 while Reifer was 10 not out as the Jaguars wrapped up victory with 11.2 overs to spare. They reached 153 for 4.
