Another FACC 40-mile road race billed for Sunday

FRESH from their successful ‘Season Opener’ 40-mile event, the Flying Ace Cycle Club of Berbice has announced another 40-miler for Sunday and it is open to cyclists countrywide.Last Sunday’s (January 3) event which attracted some of Guyana’s top pedal-pushers saw Berbician Romello Crawford of Trojan Cycle Club outlast his senior counterparts including Team Gillette Evolution’s Marlon `Fishy’ Williams, Roraima Bikers’ and Alanzo Greaves among others.
In winning the overall race, Crawford also won the junior category.
However, this Sunday, Crawford is expected to be severely tested, as over the past few days, the `bigger guns’ have been putting in lots of miles in their legs and are all raring to go.
Apart from Williams and Greaves, Crawford will have to be wary of fellow Berbician Andrew Hicks, his (Crawford) cousin Juban Crawford, Junior Niles, Orville Hinds and Raul Leal to name a few.
The FACC also plans to stage the Benjamin Sports Shop’s 55-mile road race on January 24 in Berbice.
