Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, shortly after returning from Argentina where he represented Guyana at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President Mauricio Macri, attended two events in Berbice on Sunday.The first was hosted by Mrs Sita Nagamootoo and the Joseph Charity (founded by Prime Minister’s daughter Angela and her husband Tony Joseph) at Courtland Road, Corentyne and attended by

300 children from various communities. Mrs Nagamootoo distributed gifts to all the children, and Member of Parliament Charrandas Persaud and PM Representative in Region Six Gobin Harbhajan also attended the event. The second event was at Whim, held by newly appointed Regional Executive Officer Dr. Verasammy Ramayya at his residence. Some 300 senior citizens attended and received holiday goodies. Dr. Ramayya also presented trophies and awards to the region’s top academic performers for the year.
