Flexible arrangement for approved US visas

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Georgetown on Thursday announced via its Facebook page that as of December 7, all approved visa applicants will no longer return to the Embassy to uplift their approved visas. The service is being provided by DHL located at 50 E Fifth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown.
The announcement is a notable change to the non-immigrant visa process.
“Applicants will be able to pick-up their passports Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm,” the advisory said.
The introduction of the “offsite Document Return Service is new to Guyana” but has been implemented at U.S. Embassies worldwide as part of the Global Support Strategy for Visa Services.
“Visa applicants will benefit from the flexibility the service offers by being able to uplift documents at days and times that are convenient to them,” the local US Embassy said.
