2015 NBS/BCB 2nd Division Cricket Competition -De Nobrega’s 61 sees Friendship Cavaliers through to last 16

A TIMELY half-century from Ryan De Nobrega led Friendship Cavaliers to win the Berbice River zone of the Berbice Cricket Board/New Building Society (NBS) Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition in Berbice, thus earning a place in the last-16 play-offs of the competition.De Nobrega hit 61 (5 fours and 2 sixes) to help his team post 222 for 9 in their allotted 25 overs against Ebini Ranch Raiders who were bowled out for 91 in reply.
Other half-centuries were scored by Wayne Richards of Police, Rajbance Hemraj of Bush Lot Challengers and Krishna Amoi of Chesney.

At Friendship in the Berbice River, Friendship Cavaliers beat Ebini Ranch Raiders by 131 runs.
Friendship Cavaliers posted 222 for 9 in 25 overs with Ryan De Nobrega 61, Brian King 43 n.o.; Jason Denhart 29, Irving Lyte 4 for 44 and Peter Grant 2 for 38.
Ebini Ranch Raiders managed 91 in 19 overs with Michael Cappell 3 for 9 and Daniel Leacock 2 for 14.
At Lochaber in West Canje, Guyana Eagles beat Police by 6 runs.
Guyana Eagles 198 in 27.5 overs with Gregory Crandon 35, Jorm De Freitas 30, Vidol La Fleur 27, Wayne Richards 2 for 18 and Martin Singh 2 for 40.
Police made 192 in 29.4 overs with Wayne Richards 62, Martin Singh 41, Fiaz Latif 2 for 15, Michael West 2 for 24 and Gregory Crandon 2 for 29.
At Bush Lot in West Berbice, Bush Lot Challengers defeated Hopetown United by 66 runs.
Bush Lot Challengers 157 for 7 in 25 overs with Rajbance Hemraj 51, Asif Khan 39 and Joel Dilchand 34.
Hopetown United scored 91 in 18.3 overs with Asif Khan 3 for 11 and Rajiv Kishun 3 for 16.
At Chesney, Chesney trounced Travellers by 109 runs. Chesney 210 for 8 in 30 overs with Krishna Amoi 64, Shastri Persaud 43, Brian Algu 3 for 35 and Bhupendra Matadin 2 for 41.
Travellers posted 101 in 17.4 overs with Avinash Sookraj 28, Anesh Deonarine 2 for 18, Devendra Harilall 2 for 19 and Imran Khan 2 for 19.
At No. 69, No. 69 Red Rose edged No. 72 All Star by 2 wickets.
No. 72 All Star collected 147 in 30 overs, Mahesh Bhoj 42, Parmeshwar Chatterpaul 25 and Tariq Chaitram 4 for 27.
No. 69 Red Rose scored 152 for 8 in 28.1 Overs with Tariq Chaitram 31.
