Jeffers stars with bat and ball

LEONORA’S Mark Jeffers put on a superb all-round performance as his team crushed Windsor Forest’s hopes of advancing in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National Secondary Schools Cricket League (NSSCL), sponsored by Banks DIH Coca Cola and Rainforest Waters along with Digicel. Jeffers slammed 126 which included 15 boundaries and four maximums while Chukiram Outar stroked 84 laced with 12 boundaries and a six as Leonora motored to 315 all out in 30 overs.
Windsor Forest in reply were dismissed for just 67, as Jeffers bundled out opposing batsmen with 4-16 off just three overs. Also among the wickets was Kevin Christian who took 3-13.
Leonora Secondary won by 248 runs.
At Bush Lot ground, Bush Lost crushed Fort Wellington by 10 wickets. Bush Lot won the toss and invited Fort Wellington to bat first. Fort Wellington posted a meagre 40 all out.
The destroyers with the ball were Clinton Grant with 4-9, Bikram Mohan 3-6 and Nivendra Persad 2-9. Bush Lot Secondary made light work of their target as they raced to 43 without loss in 8.2 overs.
Action in the League continues today with Abrams Zuil Secondary versus Johanna Cecelia Secondary at the NOC ground in Essequibo, Swami Secondary versus Zeeburg Secondary at Zeeburg ground, and Ash Secondary versus No. 8 Secondary at the D’Edward ground in Berbice.
