THE amount of cash that was reportedly unaccounted for by former Minister of Public Service Dr. Jennifer Westford is nearing the one billion dollar mark, usually reliable sources have confirmed.This publication was told earlier this week that a government agency is at present looking into the matter. It was confirmed that the funds are far more than the $600M that is now engaging the attention of the Guyana Police Force and the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The additional funds according to reports may be connected to operations and activities which Westford was reportedly engaged in, outside the purview of her subject ministry although those activities were conducted on behalf of the State.
The DPP is yet to advise the police on what charges could be laid for the unaccounted sum of more than $600M.
