MANAGING Director and proprietor of Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich, is pleased to continue sponsorship of golf tournaments, scheduled to be played off at Lusignan today.Sunich is currently the vice-president of the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) and has been involved in sponsorship of sports in all the disciplines in Guyana for many years.
He proudly remarked that it is about 16 years now he has been in association with the Lusignan Golf Club, supplying trophies for most of their tournaments, and in fact has been sponsoring tournaments for some six years or so.
He expressed his desire to continue sponsoring this great game in Guyana.
Today’s game is expected to attract a large number of players.
Up for grabs are trophies for 1st to 3rd position of the Overall Best Net golfer, Best Gross and Nearest to the Pin.
Tee-off is 12:30hrs.
The greens are very fast and true while the fairways and rough are much improved. Keen competition is expected as veteran golfer Patrick Prashad, who has won the best gross over the last two tournaments, will be up against the very consistent Patanjalee ‘Pur’ Persaud and the fast-learning 12-year-old Laksmana Ramroop, the winner of last week’s Demerara Mutual tournament, among others.
