Seaman on $70,000 bail for larceny of a cell phone

 

SEAMAN Orvin Hubbard was, on Monday placed on $70,000 bail by city magistrate Ann McLennan after he appeared before her to answer a simple larceny charge.

The defendant of Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara pleaded not guilty to the charge detailing that on Friday, September 11, at Houston Wharf, East Bank Demerara, he stole a Galaxy Note 2 Cellular phone valued at $75,000, property of Lorenzo Hamilton.

Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones said the defendant was identified from the security footage in the area.

Statements were ordered to be filed and the matter was put off to October 14.
