TWO East Ruimveldt residents appeared yesterday before Magistrate Annette Singh to answer separate narcotics-related charges.Omale Denny was charged with smoking cannabis on August 19 at “Warlock,” East Ruimveldt, while his friend Mark Solomon was caught with one gram of cannabis in his possession. Each defendant denied the respective allegation.

According to the prosecutor, on the day in question, police acting on information went to “Warlock,” where Denny was seen smoking the illicit drug in the company of Solomon. Upon approach of the ranks, Denny threw the drug on the ground, but the ranks picked it up and conducted a search on both defendants, hence the gram of cannabis was found on Solomon.

The men were each granted bail in the sum of $10,000, and each was ordered to return to court on September 8.
