SCOTT Savory was declared the overall winner of the just concluded 2015 United’s RUBAIX Race Series in the United States after completing 17 races in the series.According to Guyana Cycle News, Savory won four races in the series this year and consistently placed in the top positions to win the ‘Overall’ quite comfortably.
He also won the ‘Sprinters Green Jersey’ of the 2015 United’s RUBAIX Race Series. Fellow Guyanese Alanzo Greaves, who won two races in the 2015 Series, came on strongly towards the end to finish 3rd overall in the four-month Race Series.
Another Guyanese, Liam Richmond, competing for Cure 8 Cycling team finished a creditable 4th overall in the recently concluded Series at the historic Floyd Bennett Field.
Despite not competing in the first eight races of the 17-race series, Richmond displayed amazing consistency in garnering six top-five placings with one win!
Earlier, Chronicle Sport had reported that Richmond finished third overall but it has since been confirmed that he ended fourth overall.
Cure 8 Cycling, the brainchild of Richmond, was started this year and comprises mostly Guyanese cyclists, notably Sandy Lall, Wazim Gafoor, Jaipaul Mohabir, Ricky Narine, Godfrey Pollydore, Phillip Piggott, Rameshwar Ramkissoon and Andre Simon (Antigua).
Cure 8 Cycling was also instrumental in supporting the comeback of Raynauth Jeffrey during his time in the Tri-State area.
