THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday responded to an article published in the Kaieteur News July 23, 2015, edition under the caption “Remigrant loses vehicle to carjackers, calls for justice.” The police said they are awaiting legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the matter.The police in a press release added that investigations into the matter of taxi-driver Errol Andar of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, who was robbed of his motor vehicle HC 4463, have been completed and the police are in the process of seeking legal advice from the DPP.
The suspect in the matter, who is a Trinidadian engineer employed with a reputable company in Guyana, was arrested on the basis of a description given and was placed on bail during the investigations, police reported.
He had provided an alibi that was supported by two witnesses, the police said.
