THE cars that represented Guyana at the second leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship in Trinidad and Tobago were today cleared by the Guyana Revenue Authority. All containers were this morning opened and persons collected their machines from the John Fernandes Container Terminal ahead of the August 9 race meet of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC).
Meanwhile the GMR&SC has confirmed that things are falling into place ahead of next month’s event. According to the club, they have organised the usual corner marshals and safety staff needed in order to make the event a success.
The club on Wednesday evening held a meeting with the various officials including their corner marshals, as well as start line officials and emergency response teams in an effort to ensure that the sport has a smooth, trouble-free day.
The Race of Champions is billed for August 9 at the South Dakota Circuit Timehri and will feature Groups 1-4, as well as motor bikes.
