Raul Frank had to wait 12 years into his professional career to pull off a first-round stoppage. Frank manhandled American Scott Strangeway to win by technical knock out (TKO) in the opening round of a junior middleweight fight held on July 18, 1998 in Kokomo, Indiana, USA.Frank started his career in Guyana during 1986 but later moved to the United States where he resided permanently. Later in his career the slick orthodox fighter twice challenged the now-deceased American Vernon Forrest for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight title.
The first was staged in August 2000 and ended in a No-Contest while the American won the next by a unanimous decision the following year. Frank moved on to win the USBA and IBF Latino super welterweight titles.
His last fight was on home soil in November 2010 when he gained a unanimous decision over `Deadly’ Denny Dalton at the Princess Hotel and Casino. His pro career has produced 29 victories (14 KOs), five defeats and three draws.
