Clothes vendor used ganja for menstrual cramps, court hears

A CLOTHES vendor on Monday pleaded guilty to possession of two grams of marijuana, saying she used the prohibited substance to help her with ‘menstrual cramps’.Fabian Nedd, 31 years, of 26 Fourth Street, Kingstown said that it was her first time before the court and she apologised for her action.

It is alleged that on July 10 at Georgetown, police ranks acting on information went to Stone Avenue, Campbellville and made contact with the accused to conduct a search.

According to Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones, the illicit drug was not found on her but when the woman was walking away a transparent Ziploc bag fell from between her legs to that ground. The bag was picked up by the officer and the marijuana was found concealed in the bag.

City Magistrate Ann McLennan, who presided over the matter in Court Two of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, sentenced Nedd to four weeks’ community service along with a $15,000 fine.
