CRICKET-lovers in Guyana will be able to enjoy the local Caribbean Premier League (CPL) matches exclusively at the ground, as radio and television stations will not broadcast the games on the night of the match. This is in keeping with CPL policy throughout the region, where local games in every host country are only allowed delayed broadcasts.
Fans will therefore have to be at the ground to see the games live, or wait until the delayed broadcasts at times to be announced by the respective stations.
Four matches will be hosted at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara between July 15 and 21 as part of the Hero CPL 2015 tournament.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors will feature in all four matches, as the organisers have opted to give each franchise four home games.
On July 15, Guyana Amazon Warriors will play 2013 champions Jamaica Tallawahs at 18:00hrs; on July 17 they come up against St Lucia Zouks at 20:00hrs; on July 18 they clash with Barbados Tridents at 16:00hrs; and on July 21, they face Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel from 18:00hrs.
Unlike previous years when Guyana hosted matches earlier in the tournament, it will now stage the final round before the two eliminators and grand final in Trinidad and Tobago.
