SOMETIMES as an individual living in a country where double standards exist in staggering proportions, you wonder why some sickening things continue to happen, and the majority of us are silent. I try desperately not to respond to the despicable content contained in the columns and letters of Freddie Kissoon, because I do not want to lose my sanity and sense of purpose as a Guyanese who wants to use his time constructively. 

However, I feel that at times it is necessary to respond to individuals who engage in the meanest and most vile (these are understatements) writings meant to destroy the character and reputation of people who do not deserve this daily character assassination.
Freddie Kissoon has been engaging in this kind of behaviour for quite a long time now, yet the people who cry foul when Government officials who (their determination) are found wanting enjoy the daily abuse that Freddie dishes out because it fits in with their agenda very well.
Kissoon again attacks the former president, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo. In his column (2015-04-03) entitled, “I am not East Indian, I am Guyanese”, Kissson engages in a despicable attack on the former president with the following, “…Bharrat Jagdeo is infusing the election campaign with ideological racism.” Kissoon, in this same column, mentions: “But (Jagdeo is) the P.P.P. main proponent of a race campaign.” How much can one take? Isn’t the former president an individual who deserves some respect? Could Kissoon have said the same of Burnham without retaliation? He and every Guyanese know the answer.
However, Dr. Jagdeo does not respond, because he is wiser than that; he knows that he does not have to do or say anything to Kissoon. Kissoon’s own deceit and miasmic thoughts, which are manifested in his writings, will consume him.
By insulting the former president, Kissoon is punching far above his weight. He is an intellectual pigmy next to Dr. Jagdeo. Kissoon is no match for Dr. Jagdeo, who has accomplished so much and has also won many international awards. His (Freddie’s) brother, Harold (‘Lightweight’) was intellectually superior to him.
This accusation that Kissoon makes of the former president is the reason why the latter sued him, and therefore both Kissoon and Kaieteur News should refrain from publishing this dangerous assumption. The Court case is on, so why is Kissoon trying to influence the learned judge by repeating this accusation that he makes against the former president? This is libelous, malicious and scandalous! The former president mentioned that he has facts to support what he was saying.
Why is Kissoon fabricating his information, and twisting Dr. Jagdeo’s words to suit his evil purposes? With an election campaign moving along feverishly, it was expected that politicians would get dirty, but Kissoon tops them all with his vindictive and malicious writings. A script-writer interested in finding a person who specialises in producing depraved, malicious, and scandalous writings on a daily basis need not go far. We have many here in Guyana, but Kissoon beats them all, because he produces this disgusting filth every day. Talk of having a dubious distinction!
