PHAGWAH celebrations swept the streets and homes of Guyanese citizens yesterday as people of all ethnicities and from all walks of life celebrated the colourful festival with gay abandon.The Guyana Chronicle yesterday visited some of the communities where the celebratory spirit prevailed. Residents of Albouystown, Alexander Village,Campbellville,Bel Air and other areas greeted each other and even passersby with coloured powder,water and engaged in other activities associated with the festival.
Phagwah in Guyana is known for bringing people together, and this year’s festivity was no exception.
