THE Guyana Police Force reported that, at about 20:30hrs on February 20, 2015, a man snatched a gold chain from a woman in the Stabroek Market area and attempted to escape. 

He was however, pursued and caught by a member of the City Constabulary who was in the vicinity.
He was searched and an unlicensed .32 revolver with one round was found in his possession.
The armed bandit was arrested and is in police custody. Charges will be laid shortly.
