FLY Jamaica Airways on Saturday celebrated the second anniversary of its inaugural flight, and to commemorate this event, Chief Executive Officer Paul Reece, directors, management, staff and friends of the airline attended Mass at the St George’s Cathedral in Georgetown.
Following the Service, the staff and invited guests were hosted to a breakfast at the Pegasus Hotel.
The Guyanese-owned airline was certified by the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) to operate out of Jamaica in September 2012, and was given clearance to fly out of the United States in December the same year.
The inaugural flight was on February 14, 2013 from the Norman Manley International Airport, Kingston, Jamaica to the John F Kennedy International Airport in New York.
The airline operates out of the Norman Manley International Airport, and flies to New York, Toronto, and Georgetown. The company at present operates two aircraft to service its four destinations, and has every intention of expanding its destination and fleet.
