KNOWN as the `Buxton Bully’, junior welterweight Troy Hill defeated Gary Richardson via points decision on January 19, 1992. The six-rounder was the second fight of Hill’s career which lasted seven years. The `Buxton Bully’ opened his professional account on May 27, 1991 and earned a third-round TKO over Lancelot Cyrus.
He was undefeated in five bouts when he met Keith `Crusher’ Thomas in July 1992. Thomas won by a knockout in the third round. Hill took a two-year hiatus and returned in 1994. His lone fight that year ended in a technical draw.
Hill again took a break from the sport; only this time he extended it to four years. He made a comeback on October 25, 1998 but was defeated by `Deadly’ Denny Dalton.
