Body in Demerara River at Watooka identified – Man held for incised wound to neck

THE decomposing body fished out of the Demerara River in the vicinity of West Watooka on January 8, 2015 has been identified as that of Quincy Johnson, 25, of Half Mile, Wismar.

A post-mortem performed on the body revealed that Johnson died from an incised wound to the neck.
A man has been arrested in this connection, and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The corpse, discovered at about 21:00 hours on Thursday last, was taken to the Wismar Hospital, where police were awaiting persons to show up and identify the body.
