Kanden re-elected president of ACCCC for 13th term

FOR THE 13th successive year, the members of Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) have entrusted the stewardship of the club to Pastor Lloyd Kanden, having re-elected him to oversee their affairs for another term, at their Annual General Meeting and elections of office-bearers yesterday. The AGM, which was smooth and transparent, was held in the club’s main hall at the Albion Community Centre ground, and also saw Imtiaz Bacchus a former Senior laboratory technician at GuySuCo (retired), return to the position of vice-president.

Recently elected third vice-president of the Berbice Cricket Board, Vemen Walter, who in his own right, is a former Berbice and Guyana youth team manager and current Human Resources Manager of GuySuCo’s Albion estate, will continue to serve as secretary,
Dhanraj Singh-Budhu, who served the last term under Kanden as a committee member, was elevated to the post of treasurer yesterday, replacing Executive secretary of the National Cane Farming Committee, Muthuswammi Permaul.
Former Berbice Senior Inter-County off-spinner Orvin Mangru did not seek re-election as the club’s assistant secretary/treasurer; hence that position will now be executed by Frederick Hussein.
Muniram Lallbeharry, Romeo Singh, Sonoram Singh, Totaram Harrichand and Hashim Amerally will all serve as committee members of ACCCC, whose new executive will be meeting shortly to name the club captains, vice-captains and managers of the respective teams, together with the club’s sub-committees for 2015.
Prior to the election of office-bearers yesterday, the President’s, Secretary’s and Financial Reports for the year 2014 were read and voted upon at the AGM.
