THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) announced Tuesday that charges have been laid against the following persons for driving under the influence of alcohol:BALAMIKI SHAMIDHAR of #47 Village Corentyne, Berbice, who, last December 14, was stopped on the Providence Public Road, EBD while driving motor car PNN 9716 and tested with a breathalyser.

His blood alcohol level was found to be above the legal limit, and he was charged. At the Providence Magistrate’s Court on December 19, he pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge. The matter is continuing before the court.

TEMESHWAR JAINANE of Lot 300 Tuschen Housing Scheme, EBE, who, while driving motor vehicle BHH 6063 on the Providence Public Road, EBD on December 14, was stopped and tested with a breathalyser. His blood alcohol level was found to be above the legal limit, and he was charged. He pleaded not guilty to the offence on December 19 before the Providence Magistrate, and the matter is continuing before the court.

ONIEL BELLE of Lot 17 Station Street, Kitty, who was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on December 14 while driving motor vehicle BPP 4956 on the Providence Public Road, EBD. His blood alcohol level was found to be above the legal limit, and he was charged. He pleaded not guilty before the Providence Magistrate on December 19, and the matter is continuing before that court.

MAHESH RAMSOONDAR of Lot 60 Covent Garden, EBD was stopped on the Providence Public Road, EBD and tested with a breathalyzer on December 14 while driving motor vehicle GFF 313. His blood alcohol level was found to be above the legal limit, and he was charged. He also pleaded not guilty before the Providence Magistrate on December 19. The matter is continuing before the court.
