CURRENTLY in progress is the January sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination, which is being written by 336 candidates in several regions across Guyana, including Regions 5, 6, 10 and Georgetown. 

The CSEC examination which commenced on Monday last (January 5) will conclude on January 20, facilitating subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, English (Language) A, English (Literature) B, Human and Social Biology, Information Technology (Gen), Mathematics, Office Administration, Physics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Social Studies and Spanish.
Of the 336 candidates sitting the 14 subjects, core subjects Mathematics and English A were both written on Monday and Tuesday last respectively. Of the total, some 224 students wrote the Mathematics examination while an approximated 162 sat the English A exam.
