> Safety
Hello there! How are you? Was your past week positively exceptional? This week I’ll be discussing “Safety”- and I will be touching on various forms of this that I feel need to be addressed.Safety, in a nutshell, is the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury. There are many forms of safety that we should all adapt to, and there are many things that we should be “safe” about.
1. Road safety:
This month (November) is the National Road safety Month, but in contrast to this, it seems as though the number of mishaps on our roadways keep increasing. These mishaps often involve driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and plain recklessness. Many persons are affected gravely by this, and we SHOULD try to monitor and manage our behavioral patterns on the roadways, because, “accidents don’t happen, they are caused.”
2. Safety for our possessions:
This is especially important for my fellow teens to practice, as they say “not everyone is honest.” We take our “fancy” devices to school to use, but are we fully ensuring that these are kept safely at all times?
Some people may steal these possessions of yours, or you- yourself may act carelessly and recklessly and make something happen to it. Whatever the case may be, it is advisable that you practice utmost safety for your possessions.
3. Safety for your health and overall wellbeing:
In today’s society, much emphasis is not placed upon keeping ourselves safe in regards to our health. This is a major problem that needs to be combatted immediately as the risk factor for contracting many diseases are higher and with the likes of “Ebola” spreading, keeping our health safe should be priority.
* Quote of the week: (by Nelson Mandela)
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
