COLLIN Blair, also called ‘Bow Foot’ was Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman on a murder charge.
The accused, with no address stated, was not required to plead to the capital offence that said on Tuesday, June 18 at Far Backdam, Cuyuni River, he murdered Royston Sylvester Greenidge during the course or furtherance of a robbery.
Police Prosecutor Michael Grant did not disclose the prosecution’s facts to the court and the case will be called again on September 10 before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that the deceased is a dredge owner and on the day in question he was on his way home when the accused attacked him with a piece of wood. It is alleged that Blair hit Greenidge several times to his head with the wood and he succumbed to the injuries. At the time the deceased had in his possession a bag containing gold.
The accused was on the run since the alleged incident and was only apprehended on August 30 last at Eteringbang Backdam.
According to reports, the accused alleged that he was attacked by a group of men with guns and cutlasses and he tried to defend himself with a piece of wood.
