MANSLAUGHTER accused Anthony George, called Ryan, who is on trial for unlawfully stabbing to death his stepfather Ralph Jacobs in 2011 will know his fate today.Justice Dawn Gregory will sum up the evidence and hand over the case to the jury for their consideration and verdict.
The accused who is being defended by Miss Sonia Parag pleaded not guilty and claimed that his stepfather was beating his younger brother when he intervened as a peacemaker and his stepfather hit him with a bottle. A fight started between them and the stepfather was getting the better of the fight. He then became fearful of his life and hit out with a knife in self-defence.
State Counsel, Miss Mercedes Thompson urged the jury to return a verdict that is in keeping with the evidence.
