A WOMAN of Lot 7 Yarrow Dam who was charged with abusive language was placed on her own recognisance yesterday by Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond. Sharmilla Rahim, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charge, particulars of which said that on April 27 at Yarrow Dam, she made use of abusive language to Hemwattie Ramroop, where a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
Police Corporal Jomo Nichols, prosecuting, said the facts are as stated in the charge and did not object to bail.
The unrepresented woman will make her next court appearance on May 12.
