IN an article published on April 17, 2014 under the headline ‘GECOM gets $3.3B approved in National Budget’, the Guyana Chronicle inadvertently stated that the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) would need six months’ notice to operationalise its work-plan to facilitate hosting of local government elections.

The article should have read that the work-plan to facilitate the hosting of local government elections spans a timeframe of six months.

The Guyana Chronicle accordingly apologises for any misconception its report may have caused.
