Corpse of teenaged girl found in trench at Kuru Kururu

THE body of a teenaged girl was yesterday morning found in a trench at Kuru Kururu along the Soesdyke /Linden Highway.

According to a release the police are investigating the murder of 16-year-old Ravina Cozier, of Kuru Kururu, whose body was found at about 08:00 hrs yesterday morning with stab wounds in a ditch at Kuru Kururu.
According to a police source, the lifeless body of the young girl was discovered by her mother and father who were searching for her since last Monday night, and a knife suspected to be the murder weapon was found on the scene.
The young woman bore stab wounds to the left side of her temple and one of her ears, while one of her wrists appeared to have been slit, the source said.
Reports said the teen was last seen with the suspect, 28-year-old Leo Rodrigues with whom she shared a relationship and the police source said he is believed to have committed suicide by hanging himself after fleeing to Essequibo and his body is at the Suddie Mortuary.
Reports reaching this newspaper said that the man who worked in the interior and Cozier shared a relationship for the past two years, and had recently experienced some problems.
The girl’s body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem.
