MARK Blackman, of Lot 292 ‘B’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown was on Monday last fined $3,000 and ordered to do 30 hours community service at the Brickdam Police Station by Magistrate Faith McGusty.The penalties were imposed on him after he admitted that, on Tuesday, December 24, in Water Street, he had two grammes of cannabis sativa (marijuana) in his possession.
His lawyer, Mr. Paul Fung-a-Fat, told the magistrate that the defendant is an asthma patient and uses the prohibited substance as medication.
