WCD murder trial where US$700 was paid for execution continues

AT the trial of the four accused Bissoondial Mahadeo, Hoosman Khan, Shamiza Khan and Farida Khan who are indicted with the murder of their stepfather Motilall Singh, for whose execution, US$700 was paid, the hearing is continuing before Justice Navindra Singh and a mixed jury .

One of the witnesses who testified yesterday is the 19-year old daughter of number two accused Hoosman Khan.
According to the girl, she lives at Lot 182 Sixth Street, Windsor Forest with her mother, Marie. She added: “I am not working anywhere. On Sunday September 6, 2009 at about 00:16 hrs, my father went home. He asked me fuh borrow me cell phone and me and he start to quarrel because I tell he no. After that the phone ring, uncle Moti call for my father. I tell my father ah message uncle Moti tell me. My father was outside. My father left home about 16:30hrs.
“On the 7th September, 2009 at about 14:00 hrs I was in my bed when I heard a noise downstairs. I got up and I opened the door and I see my father downstairs on a bench sitting crying.
“I asked my father what happened. He kept on crying. He said call a taxi. I asked him again what happened. He said three men wid masks attack he.I asked he wha he do and he said one tell he run for he life. I called a taxi. The taxi boy came. The taxi’s man name was Radesh. The car didn’t starting it eventually started and my father and I and my uncle and the taxi boy went by Den Amstel Police Station where my father reported to the police. My father went with the police and I went in the taxi wid the taxi man to First Street, Windsor Forest.
“There we saw uncle Moti lying on the ground with wounds on his body. He appeared to be dead. He was motionless. Like he got juk up. The wounds were to the front he stomach / chest area of the body. I then left and went home. Later the morning the same day at about 06:00 hrs police came and picked up me, my mother and uncle and took us to the Leonora Police Station where I gave a report. It was a written statement that I signed to.”
Mrs. Judith Gildfharie-Mursalin is appearing for the prosecution; Mr. Glenn Hanoman is appearing for the number one accused. Bisoondial Mahadeo, while Senior Counsel, Mr. Bernard De Santos is representing the other three accused Hoosman Khan, Shamiza Khan and Farida Khan.
