Police hunting identified killer in Albouystown murder

POLICE are looking for a man with whom the now dead Rayburn Harvey had a fight sometime ago.

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud said following the execution type murder of the Albouystown resident, his suspected killer has been identified and is being hunted for questioning.
Harvey, 29, of Lot 156 Non Pareil Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was gunned down on November 11, while returning home from a relative’s wake.
He was walking along Walker Terrace, East La Penitence, when a man rode up on a motorcycle, discharged several shots at him and escaped about 23:45 hrs.
Harvey was wounded about his body and had been taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he succumbed to his injuries.
Previously, he was freed of a murder indictment by the High Court in March 2012, when he had been accused of gunning down Samantha Belle on March 18, 2006 on Vlissengen Road, in the vicinity of St. Sidwell’s School.
That case was thrown out because of inconsistencies in accounts given by a witness in a statement and the courtroom.
The Guyana Chronicle was told by his relatives that Harvey had a past feud with a man, who chopped him in the face and they are of the view that same person may be responsible for his murder.
