EDUCATION Minister Priya Manickchand and senior education officers met with parents and teachers from several schools during last week as a part of the ministry’s enlightened approach to partnering with all stakeholders.
According to a release by the ministry, during the meetings with the parents and teachers, Manickchand promised parents that she and her ministry would continue to work tirelessly to improve the educational standards in every region across the country.
“The minister was warmly received by huge turnouts at Stella Maris, South Ruimveldt Secondary and Graham’s Hall Primary, where she invited parents and teachers to discuss the business of educating those under their care candidly,” the release stated.
Additionally, parents raised issues that they thought may be affecting their children’s performance at school and while some of these issues raised have already been addressed, Manickchand told parents that while every request may not be immediately achievable, all can be conquered with strong partnerships.
