GUYANA Water Inc. (GWI) acknowledged, yesterday, that consumers between Calcutta and DeHoop, East Coast of Demerara, as well as those at Weldaad and Bath Settlement, West Coast of Berbice, are experiencing the results of low electricity voltage, due to generation problems affecting the Guyana Power & Light (GPL).

This has resulted in reduced levels of water service and the affected communities include the entire Mahaicony/Mahaica area and the Mahaica Hospital.
GWI said it is working closely with GPL to restore normal service and regrets any inconvenience caused.
