The programme targets customer service representatives, supervisors and managers and is themed ‘Embracing Customer Service – A Responsibility for Everyone’.
The sessions, which are being held at the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre in Red House, High Street, Kingston, Georgetown, over a three-day period, were organised as a result of an increasing call, by key stakeholders in the business community, for an enhancement in the customer service delivery in the public and private sectors.
As such, the collaborative approach was proposed between Empretec Guyana Inc. and the GCCI, to implement the initiative.
Yesterday’s workshop saw facilitators Hazel Longe and Jennifer Flatts talking to participants about Class ‘N’ Elegance, their attitude and developing themselves.
The lecturers also spoke on topics such as ‘Who is a customer’, ‘Types of customers,’ ‘What is customer service’, ‘Your role in customer service and attitudes’ and ‘Benefits of having a positive attitude’, etc.
The other seminars will be designed in a unique way to enhance participants’ knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the value of good customer service for their companies and customers, a release said.
THE BENEFITS
It added that some of the benefits that would be derived include consistently delivering exceptional customer service, developing customer loyalty and building satisfaction, becoming accountable to customers and critical communication skills required to develop and retain exceptional service.
Today’s forum will be aimed at supervisors, while tomorrow’s would focus attention on managers.
Certificates of participation will be presented to each person who attends the sessions.
Last June 13, the Government of Guyana, the United Nations (UN) and the Guyana Manufacturers’ Association (GMA) launched the EMPRETEC Guyana Project, designed to equip small business operators with entrepreneurial skills to effectively execute profitable ventures.
Today, EMPRETEC has evolved into a not-for-profit institution operating under licence from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), focusing on entrepreneurship and business development training.
