IT is shameful and irresponsible that the Opposition MPs, self-proclaimed social activists and wannabe media people are allowed to assassinate the character and reputation of another person without fear of retribution or remorse.
While being a public officer (ministers, CEOs, etc.) means that a person’s professional actions are subject to public scrutiny and that officer should welcome it, there must be a line barring a critic from attacking the personality, character and reputation of that officer with the stroke of a pen or a 15-minute TV interview.
Our career critics (who hold themselves up as the only pillars of virtue and intelligence in this entire country) have a moral duty to be responsible, constructive and meaningful in their assessment.
They should not be making repeated public statements of innuendos and conjecture that are non-sequitur. The mind of the reader is slowly being wasted on such dribble on a daily basis. Fix your conduct before you can make a change elsewhere! Your public is not as dumb as you may think.
