Mini-bus driver remanded on cocaine possession charge

A 32-YEAR-OLD mini-bus driver, Ricardo Chester, of Danielstown, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Sunil Scarce yesterday, on a drug possession charge.

The defendant appeared at the Charity Court, also on the Essequibo Coast, where he pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on September 13, police found 21.1 grammes of cocaine in his house.
Police Prosecutor Krishnadatt Ramana said  around 16:40 hrs, ranks conducted a search at Chester’s home and retrieved a plastic bag with the prohibited substance which he admitted belonged to him.
The prisoner has to be back in Court on October 9.
