COMMISSIONER of Police Leroy Brumell last evening confirmed that the shooter in Tuesday night’s execution style killing of popular biker Kurt Davis has been identified and the police are on the hunt for the man. Contrary to reports in sections of the media, the man has not turned himself into the police.
In an invited comment, the police commissioner said that based on information received, the dead man and a woman were seated in the back seat of the car when the gunman opened fire on him.
At that point the female who was seated in the back seat with him began shouting the name of the person who was doing the shooting, beseeching him that he should not do what he was doing.
It is believed that after the shooting, the gunman fled the scene while the injured man exited the vehicle and ran into his yard where he collapsed. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died.
Meanwhile, the woman who was in the vehicle received a gunshot wound and is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Investigators are trying to ascertain the relationship between the woman and dead man.
There are suggestions that the entire incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the two men over the female who was in the vehicle with Davis when he was shot.
While this is the case, the woman who is presently hospitalised is claiming that she was not the person in the car at the time of the shooting. While admitting that she is familiar with the now dead man, she is saying that she was not with him when he was shot and that she sustained her gunshot wound while being robbed at a location in the city.
