THE mutilated body found on the roadway at Port Kaituma, North West District, early Monday morning has been identified as Steve George, 37, of Four Miles, also in Port Kaituma.

The corpse was discovered about 03:30 hrs at Four Miles, Quarry Top, with injuries to the head, indicating that the man was hit on the face where his chin was damaged and lacerations were observed to the throat.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the murder of another man, not yet identified, whose remains were at Long Pond Backdam, Sisters Village, West Bank Demerara.
That discovery was made by sugar workers in the area and residents said the deceased is not from that village.
Police said he was found about 11:00 hrs on Monday in a canal and is at the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour, West Demerara, as the death continues to be investigated.
