MURDER accused Eon La Cruz, formerly indicted with the stabbing murder of Gregory Thomas allegedly committed in October 2012, was freed of the indictment on a no-case submission by Attorney-at-law Mr. Huckumchand, on Friday last at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
There was no evidence to implicate La Cruz in commission of the crime. All that the police could say was, reportedly, that Thomas died from a stab wound in October 2012, and that death was due to perforation of the heart. There was no evidence to implicate anyone in the commission of the crime.
At the end of the prosecution’s case, Mr. Huckumchand submitted that there was no case for his client to answer. The magistrate agreed, and the accused was freed. (Barclay)
