The Deputy Commissioner (Law Enforcement) added that some individuals, including the woman’s reputed husband, are assisting with the probe.
The 36-year-old, of 21st Avenue, Diamond Housing Scheme, was found, in the garage of her posh home, by an employee who turned up for work, as usual, on Saturday morning.
The corpse bore stab wounds and it appeared that the victim was also beaten on the head while her house was ransacked and the upper flat drenched with dieselene but not set afire.
A storage bond aback of the premises was gutted by a blaze that was doused by firefighters who were summoned to the scene.
Ramnaress, who lived in the house alone, had been seen sweeping her yard, on Saturday morning, within the property that was well protected by alarm systems.
However, although there were surveillance cameras, footage from them is missing, as well as cash and jewels.
Neighbours did not recall hearing any distress calls from the businesswoman’s home nor did they see anyone entering or leaving the place.
Police reported that, about 10:00 hrs on August 31, the body of Ramnaress, was discovered in her home with injuries to her head and left hip.
The house had been ransacked and drenched with a flammable liquid and a storage bond at the rear of the building was destroyed by fire.
Her motor car was abandoned on the public road at Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
