McDoom restaurant owner put on $10,000 bail over abusive language

A creole restaurant owner of 29 McDoom Village, East Bank Demerara, was put on $10,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty on an abusive language charge.
Thirty-five-year-old Marvin Hicks pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on Sunday, August 25 at 10 North Road, Georgetown he made use of abusive language to Holly Monison.
The virtual complainant was absent from court. However, there were no objections to the defendant’s pre-trail liberty and Hicks was granted $10,000 bail. He is expected to return to court on September 4.
