It is with profound sadness that the Peoples’ Progressive Party (PPP) learnt of the passing of former Attorney General of Guyana Mr. Doodnauth Singh SC.
We express sincerest condolences to the family and friends of this distinguished son of the soil.
Indeed, the nation has suffered a true loss by his passing. The Party is eternally grateful for the numerous contributions he has made to the nation and the legal fraternity both locally and internationally.
Mr. Singh has served this nation with distinction and astuteness. The many portfolios, which he held, were extensive but not limited to service to this nation as Attorney General, Minister of Legal Affairs, Parliamentarian, Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, and a distinguished Attorney- at- Law.
Mr Singh would be remembered for his distinction in his professional life, by his research capabilities, eloquence in the courtroom and Parliament and his immense knowledge of the law. His research abilities were immeasurable coupled with his likeness for comprehensive analysis.
Despite his numerous achievements, he has demonstrated humility and has provided mentorship to many, including those for whom he has been a fortress.
The Peoples Progressive Party is eternally grateful for the contributions made by this distinguished son of the soil and hopes that the family and friends of this dear son are comforted in their grief and do find solace in this time of bereavement.
