IN just under three weeks the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) will be hosting the second meeting of the Race of Champions at South Dakota Circuit with the date set for Sunday September 8.
The event, which is sponsored by Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Co. Ltd, Valvoline and Banks DIH Ltd, is expected to attract a large gathering since some 22 events are scheduled in several categories.
According to the club’s secretary, Rayon Samaroo, he noted that this meeting will aim to prepare the competitors for the November meet and also the international meet which is scheduled to be hosted here later.
The categories are Go-Karts, Super Bikes A&B, Group 1, 2A, 2B, 3 & 4 and 125cc bikes.
A number of other companies will be on board with sponsorship for each of the activities scheduled.
