School of the Nations records impressive results at Cambridge University exams

School of the Nations at New Market Street, Georgetown, has recorded a 95% pass rate at the May and June sittings of the Cambridge University Advanced Level (AL) examinations, with 28% of all the exams being Grades A or B.

Other creditable results at the just-concluded exams include an overall 82% pass rate at the Fifth Form International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams.

A release from the privately run School of the Nations said a total of 170 students wrote Cambridge University Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level (AL) examinations. Overall, 402 examinations were written in 17 subjects and recorded a 95% pass rate.

The highest performers in rank order were:

* Alicia Bankay with As in Chemistry, Maths and Physics
* Shaian Haniff: As in Accounts, English and Mathematics
* Nikisha Logan: As in Law and Sociology
* Tishina Ramkishun: As in Law & Psychology and B in Sociology
* Bisham Ramoutar: As in Law & General Paper & Bs in Psychology and Sociology
* Pawan Daswaney: As in Business & Economics & B in Mathematics
* Tomika Major: As in Law & Sociology and B in Business
* Brendon Khan: As in Economics and Maths and Bs in Accts and ICT
* Natasha Ramalho: A in Chemistry, B in Biology and B in Maths
* Jiamin Gong: A in Business and B in Accounts
* Keshant Samaroo: A in Chemistry, B in Biology and B in Maths

Meanwhile, in the Cambridge University IGCSE examinations, the overall pass rate was 82%. A total of 54 students in the 5th Form wrote a total of 282 examinations in 18 subjects.

Among the outstanding results were:

* Riasoya Jodah: 7 distinctions and 1 B
* Troy Broomes: 1 distinction and 7 As
* Calvin Ming: 1 distinction, 6 As and 1 B
* Famke Van Dijk: 4 As and 3 Bs
* Leigh Ann Amsterdam: 2 As and 5 Bs
* Fleur Blanckaevt: 3 As and 4 Bs
* Sarah Akbar: 1 distinction, 2 As, 2 Bs, 3 Cs
