FORTY-ONE-year-old interior truck driver Suraj Ram of Lot 378 Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara was remanded to prison by Georgetown Magistrate Ann McLennan on a causing death by dangerous driving charge yesterday.

He is accused of having caused the death of Frank Ivan Wilson on Monday, August 12, at Grove Public Road by driving motor car PHH 397 in a dangerous manner.

Police Corporal Dinero Jones, prosecuting, told the court that on that day, at around 12:00hrs, the accused was driving the said motorcar which was proceeding north on the western side of Grove Public Road at a fast rate. The road was wet and Ram lost control of the vehicle, which spun around and collided with Wilson, who was rushed by public-spirited citizens to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

This case was put off to September 16.
